Kennebunk Land Trust Strategic Plan

The future of conservation in our community starts with the work we do together today.

Kennebunk Land Trust is excited to share our 2026–2030 Five-Year Strategic Plan, a roadmap for the next chapter of conservation, stewardship, and community connection. Developed with input from our board, staff, volunteers, and community, the plan builds on KLT’s strong foundation while looking ahead to the opportunities and challenges facing our region. Many months were spent with a team of strategists skilled at assisting land trusts with this process.

The board met with community members and interviewed and asked questions about how KLT is perceived and what they would like to see from the trust. Over the next five years, we’ll focus on protecting important lands and habitats, caring for the places already in our trust, expanding access to nature, strengthening community partnerships, and building a sustainable future for KLT. Specific steps have been integrated into developing these tasks. This plan is more than a list of goals; it’s a shared vision for what we can accomplish together. We’re grateful to everyone who helped shape it and excited to invite our community to be part of bringing it to life.
